Sunday Truths

I absolutely love the hour on Saturday when I am enjoying coffee and breakfast, usually with a side of post-workout endorphins, telling myself how I cannot wait to sleep in and relax on Sunday. ⠀ (See my Sunday morning view...for about 45 minutes)⠀ Oh hi Sunday. You sit on a bed of lies 😂 ⠀ I am pretty sure I get more movement on Sunday - my designated rest day, than I do any other day of the week. And it’s probably the same for you too. ⠀ Here’s why:⠀ ⚡️Changing sheets⠀ ⚡️Running errands⠀ ⚡️Cleaning up⠀ ⚡️Prepping meals⠀ ⚡️Cleaning up again⠀ ⚡️Laundry/dishwasher/etc.⠀ It all adds up! ⠀ But here is the upside to Sneaky Sunday. It allows me to get SO MUCH accomplished, making Monday-Saturday super manageable. ⠀ This is not to say we don’t need our full rest and recovery - we do, arguably as much if not more than our workouts. But I have found that during the week, I spend hours: ⠀ ✨Writing at my desk⠀ ✨Commuting in the car with a podcast⠀ ✨Helping with homework⠀ ✨Reading with my kids⠀ ✨Sitting on the couch after dinner⠀ ✨Relaxing in bed by 8pm⠀ So what I am beginning to realize is that I am finding new times and outlets to recover, as I’m using my Sunday as the springboard for a successful week. ⠀ Turns out doing all these tasks today, will also allow me to get my hair cut, nails done or something else restorative during the week - when I probably need it more anyway. ⠀ I know this pattern doesn’t work for everyone; it certainly didn’t for me when my kids were babies. But I am loving the opportunity to really optimize my schedule to the point that I find myself thinking....is it Monday yet??⠀ Am I totally alone in this? I’d love to know what Sundays look like for you!
